IDENTIFIED CDV
Pvt. Israel F. Richard, Co. B 47th Indiana Volunteer Infantry.  Enlisted on March 3, 1864, age 34.
Died of disease on September 14, 1864 in the University General Hospital in New Orleans.  CDV is
post war copy of a prewar image. ID and inscription on the back.  Copies of documentation included.

CDV OF CONFEDERATE FLAG LITHOGRAPH
Printed after the war as a memorial to fallen loved ones and to the "Lost Cause".  This CDV is of a
photographic copy of a lithograph titled "The Spectre Banner" depicting a Confederate 2nd National
flag rising to Heaven through the clouds of the night sky. Designed by Anthony Dibrell and Thomas
Morgan of Petersburg, Virginia with the copy write applied for in 1867. The flag is framed with in an
oval cloud surrounded by battle scenes in the upper corners and a Naval scene on the bottom left.  
The bottom right depicts the reconciliation between the north and south as seen by two figures
shaking hands.  Reproduced throughout the south.  Good condition                                                     $70

CDV OF CONFEDERATE FLAG LITHOGRAPH
Printed after the war as a memorial to fallen loved ones and to the “Lost Cause”.  This CDV is of a
photographic copy of a lithograph that has been watercolor tinted by hand.  It depicts crossed
Confederate 1st and 2nd National flags rising to Heaven through the clouds and in the background a
yellow tinted sun setting below the horizon.  Below the flags is a banner with “C. S. A.” and wreath of
Laurel leaves tinted with green.  Card is in good condition.                                                                    $85
